Baan Pak Sabai opened for business in July 2008, therefore our facilities are almost brand new and our gardens, woodland groves, and orchards are still maturing, which enhances the wide open views from our hillside position. Our gardens and grounds cover an area of 60 Rai, of which half is on the hillside, and the remainder on the flat valley floor.
At Baan Pak Sabai, we believe in sourcing food stuffs and produce locally, and employ only local staff. We grow a lot of our own vegetables using organic horticulture, without man made fertilisers, and the superior taste and freshness experienced in our restaurant is one reason for it’s fame spreading.
All our staff are related to each other in some way, and live within a short walk from Baan Pak Sabai. We believe it is essential that the local economy is boosted from the tourist industry it supports, in order to help local people earn a decent wage.
The Wang Nam Khieo region has traditionally been a farming area, but due to the poor soil condition, the cost of fertilisers to improve it, and low revenue from crops, farming has been in decline for some years. Recently, our hills and valleys have become a popular weekend destination for countryside breaks, and the local infrastructure has been improved to accommodate this trend.
Baan Pak Sabai is owned and managed by an Anglo-Thai couple – Clive from Wales and his wife Wang. They have strong support from their local staff, and are pleased to cater for visitors from all countries. The resort is already popular with large corporate, government, and social organisations, for extended weekend social and team building activities.
